A Memory Revived
In the early 1950’s Mr. C from Chalfont St. Giles, married the love of his life, his wife looked stunning on that very special day, in her beautiful white lace Wedding gown. Things were tough in those days, and cleaning the gown was way down the list of priorities, the gown was wrapped in brown paper and put to the back of the wardrobe.

Riding High
A local cycling shop had purchased several boxes of cycling jackets, and had unpacked them all, having put them onto hangers in the back of the shop. Sadly in the night an adjoining shop caught fire causing heavy smoke damage to all the jackets, and so they were brought to Carlton Cleaners to see if they could be saved. It was not just a case of cleaning them, as they also had to be treated to remove the smell of the smoke, and then had to be reproofed to put back their water repelling properties.

A major Political Party were planning a special party at their club, and wanted to have the stage curtains and functions room curtains cleaned. They had arranged a price with a local dry cleaner when a club member, who was also a fireman advised the committee of the need to have all curtains and soft furnishings in buildings to which the public have access flame retarded, the local cleaner was contacted again, but was unable to offer this service.
